Tippecanoe was founded in 1814 or 1815 and known as Norrisville. The name was changed in honor of William Henry Harrison, "Old Tippecanoe."

Clendening Dam. On the Brushy Fork of Stillwater Creek, the dam is 950 feet long and 64 feet high. Picnic area and playground are available.
