WOOSTER ROTARY CLUB STRATEGIC PLAN

Final Draft of Proposed Strategic Plan
As Revised June 2008
(Previous version)

Given the nature of Rotary’s objective and operating style, and with the constantly changing leadership, it is difficult to establish a three or five year “strategic plan. For this reason we recommend developing near-term strategies that are focused at committee levels, which can be implemented by the responsible committees. The Club’s activities should, of course, be consistent with the guiding principles and current priorities of Rotary International.

S-1. The Board will develop criteria that will allow Rotary committees to set meaningful priorities on how we spend our charitable monies

S-2. The Club’s committees are expected annually to identify, develop and implement plans and activities that will enable the Club to achieve its goals. In doing so, the committees should recognize that project size is not a determining consideration.
S-3. The Club should establish criteria for evaluating projects and expenditures. Each Committee is expected to develop and recommend to the Board criteria intended to assure that all of its activities will fit within the Club's substantive and cost/benefit goals.
S-4. The Board will regularly analyze all fund raising opportunities including existing events. Both large and small projects should be considered.

S-5. It is expected that the Club will generally fund current operations out of current revenues.

S-6 The Club should maintain and grow a diverse and balanced long term membership. This means, among other things, that new members should always be actively recruited and that membership retention should always be a priority.
S-7. The Club should promote the value of high ethical standards in all that the Club does and in the professional and personal lives of its members. Such promotion should include, without being limited to, regular inculcation of the values embodied in the Four Way Test.
S-8. The Club should continually find ways to promote better awareness of the contributions made by the Club and by Rotary International at local, regional and international levels.
S-9 The Board should annually disseminate to the Club a report showing the extent of the Club's compliance with this Plan.
