Rotary World Peace Scholarship Funding
The Rotary World Peace Scholarship supports the Rotary World Peace Scholar for a
two-year master's-level degree program at one of the Rotary Centers for International
Studies. Scholarships cover a 21-month period. This period includes two academic years
as well as the three-month summer break between academic-year periods. Scholars are
encouraged to pursue degree-related activities during their summer breaks, such as
internships, volunteer work, and research.
The scholarship will include funding for:
-
Tuition and Fees: university registration fees, tuition for a typical course
load for the two-year degree program, and all other fees required by the university.
-
Room and Board: a monthly stipend for 21 months of room and board based on the
reasonable cost of student living in the study area. The Rotary Foundation will
determine monthly stipends in consultation with the University Partners.
-
Transportation: round-trip transportation between the scholar's home and
study cities at the start and end of the scholarship period.
-
Contingency Expenses: a stipend to cover the cost of books and supplies,
thesis costs, costs associated with service obligations, and other unanticipated
costs. Contingency funds will be provided at the beginning of each academic year
during the two-year scholarship period.
-
Summer Funding: Limited summer funding is available to scholars to support
degree-related projects such as internships, volunteer work, and research.
Scholars apply for summer funding during the first academic year of the scholarship
period.
Scholars are responsible for securing funds to cover any expenses not
specifically covered in the categories listed above. Only scholarship recipients may
use scholarship funds. Spouses and dependents may accompany scholars on their study
programs, but The Rotary Foundation will not provide funding for anyone other than
the scholar.
Additional information and applications can be found on the
Rotary International web site.
