MEANDERING
by Eileen T. Waldron
I wanted something
I knew not what
The want was playing
Down deep in my gut
Why wouldn't it make itself known
I felt out-of-sorts uneasy
Now the desire is full-blown
My stomach is feeling queasy
Was I hungry for something to eat
Did I want to go to a show
Was I hoping some man to meet
Whatever, I just don't know
Is this a woman thing
Or do men have it too
My mind is on a swing
Am I getting the Flu
Why can't I pin it down
I don't like this shilly=shally
I need my feet on the ground
To begin to act naturally
Is this what they call -Spring Fever-
Restlessness saturates me
I can't wait till it's over
So I can regain my sanity
On the other hand, it is a change of pace
Meandering around like a sick cow
I wonder what will take it's place
oooOOh! I really don't know what to do now !

ONE TEAR
By Eileen T. Waldron
The park smelled like spring
On the bench i sat staring
down
I watched a cherry blossom
skitter in the breeze across
the ground
hearing a Spanish guitar in
the distance
I felt each string of haunting play
somewhere in my being
the hurt in me so intense
I gasped
I knew one day he would
leave
I felt a wet drop on my hand
rain
no a tear only one
there won't be
anymore
The breeze arose
picked up the blossom
it's
movement fusing with
the pulse of the music and
the quivering of my heart
all coalescing
in one cluster
spinning
towards oblivion
It isn't like I didn't know
the music would end
the blossom would disappear
the tear would dry up
and all would be gone
forever gone
like all moments that don't last
hold fast
hurting heart
hold fast.

The Body
By Eileen T. Waldron
It flutters as it slowly falls
in it's own unique pattern
for a moment it is suspended---
in stillness
then it continues it's way to the ground
joining all the other snowflakes
that have gone before it,
so quiet
melting into and becoming one with
the rest of the pristine snow
glistening like diamonds in the glow
of a streetlight.------------------
It's like a parody of human life
With our matchless DNA
all slowly fluttering toward an end
like those who went the same way
becoming a blend
in the earthly grave
now ashes
joining with the rest of the dirt
in the ground
that the sun beats down upon.

The Soul
By Eileen T. Waldron
Like an ephemeral cloud
it sheds it's shroud
the body
it flutters upward
toward the sky
In it's glorious journey
towards it's heavenly home
never more to be alone
safe in the arms
that shield from harm
in the warm loving place
of a Saviours embrace
it awaits the new shell
of perfect anatomy
where there is
no more hell
Just miraculous eternity.
