I welcome you to expose yourself to my opinionated prose, my poetry filled with the full gambit of emotions, and my various other rants. You will feel my anger, wonder, and even sarcasm when you read my articles and verse. Keep in mind that I am unconventional and terribly cranky even at times, but I am one of the nicest persons that you may ever meet on the web or off. A strange combo, huh?

I agree with this quote! People who don't learn from their misfortune, or never experience hardship, can't grow. If everything in the world was always perfect, wouldn't we all be rather boring?

A Little bit about `Kat`who is the editor and founder of the official #Ohiobar Website, Ohiozine, Writer's Haven, Bookmark It!, and also Muses and Moments.

I am a poet published by Cader Publishing. I also have my poetry published with the Int'l Library of Poets, We Love Writers, Themestream, poetry.com, betterkarma.com, and of course, Writers Haven. I also write for Fitness Heaven, Lesson Tutor, Page Wise, and Life Smart Solutions. I was a content editor for the poetry and writing sections of Reader's Niche during its publication. I write under the names Katherine Theresa West, Katherine West and K.T. West. Much of my work is non-fiction- articles on writing tips, children, parenting, education issues (ADD). My work also includes fictional short stories and a humor column about pet peeves. Look for the links to these syndicated columns and articles below.

I recently had 4 different poems published in hardbound by both Cader Publishing and International Library of Poets. "Why Angels Cry" (found on my poetry page below) won 4th place in a national poetry contest, and is going to be soon appearing in 3 different chap books. Look for my new book of poetry coming soon!

I am married and a full time college student majoring in English and Journalism. I have 2 beautiful daughters ages 9 and 14. We live in a small town in North Eastern Ohio. Most people are suprised when they find out what a geek I am! They are even more suprised that a geek could write poetry. I can do ALMOST anything on a pc or with the written word, but things like dusting my house or keeping the laundry done is out of my realm. My biggest heroes are my Grandmother and my Mom; they are now both deceased. These were both strong women- the role models from whom I learned all that I now know. I draw from them for my inspiration many times.

Things I don't like

Snobby arrogant people, they turn me off. I think everyone is unique and special. People that are hypocrites make my blood boil! Injustice is another thing I can not tolerate. I have always felt that being fair to our fellow man is essential. I believe a person have who is mean to everyone is much more honest than a person who is nice to only a select few(those who happen to be in a "particular" social class).

Things I Like

I love to write fiction, non-fiction, essays, poetry, short stories, and I even am working on my first novel. Actually, I am done with my first poetry chapbook, but looking for the right publisher. My English Professor compared me to Hemingway once; he says that I scare him. I feel certain that my hard work and determination will pay off someday!
