If Nothing Sticks To Teflon Then How Do They Stick
It To The Pan???
TB came to this conclusion:
Originally it didn't stick well - you had to use
special utensils or the Teflon would chip off. Today, they
roughen the pan's surface by sandblasting it. A primer is applied to
the surface and then the Teflon is embedded in the primer.
pavolka thought up this idea:
It's like duct tape. one side is sticky, the other
isn't.
the saint agreed with TB and pavolka:
I believe it's a high-temperature process that fuses
it to the surface, or else it's deposited by some sort of carrier
that evaporates, as in paint.
