THOUGHTS NOT OUR OWN

Anticipation

We anticipate the duties and problems, hopes and fears, of

tomorrow, next week, next year. We peer further ahead to possible

sickness and bereavement, to our death, to the Parousia, the

Resurrection, the new heaven and the new earth. Uncertainties

attend all these events, whether and when and how they will take

place. What is our wish, then, our prayer? Christians have only

one: 'not my will but yours be done'. We ask for guidance to know

God's will and for strength to do it.
