My Interests

Well, lets see...

I'm interested in many things. Such as games, singing, going out with my friends, reading, my computer, future plans, and trying to publish this page--it took me like 3 weeks to find a decent counter for this page, but its there now and it's somewhat cool.

Games

I used to think that Nintendo was the stuff in the gaming industry. I always bought and waited with baited breath for the latest Nintendo games. Lately, I've been seeing the light in computer games. I was originally enlightened to this fact when I saw DOOM2 and found out it's edibility, 3D environment, etc. Then came along QUAKE, with unmatched multiplayer internet capabilities and virtually infinite editing possibilities.

I was hooked the instant I played deathmatch via the internet. I'd played DOOM2 deathmatch with a modem to modem connection, but it couldn't even compare to this! Although I've owned QUAKE since last August, 1996, I've only been able to play internet QUAKE since June, 1997. Currently, I am working on a deathmatch mod page that I will be posting soon here. Hopefully, I will have some mods that I have created myself on this page.

Singing

Well, I've been actively participating in the Jackson High School Choir throughout high school. Now that I've graduated(with a 3.98 GPA), I will be attending Ohio State where I will join the Men's Glee Club. My Junior and Senior years, I was part of the Jacks-N-Jills, JHS's showchoir. It was fun--we sang and danced, but it took one heck of a lot of time. Like 6 hours a week. In college, I know I will not have this kind of time to spare.

Going Out With My Friends

Usually, my friends and I get together and do something at least once a week. It's fun to hang out with them because none of them are into drinking and such.

Reading

Lately, I have been reading up a lot about college stuff. Some of it seems to be really helpful. If anyone is goin to college soon, you *have* to get the book Making College Count. It has *a lot* of helpful and insightful information in it.

My Computer

My current computer is a Pentium 60MHZ--not much, but still useful. I'm gonna be taking it to college with me. Hopefully I can squeeze 5 years out of it. We've had it since 1993.

If you haven't heard of the Digital Alpha Processor, learn about it now!!!! If you do you'll be saving yourself a heck of a lot of money down the road if you're planning on buying a Pentium/clone system. The fastest alpha is 600MHZ currently and priced about the same as a Dual Pentium 300MHZ(which is about the speed of an alpha 333MHZ). The 433MHZ alpha is about the price of a PentiumII 233MHZ--that's about twice as fast for the same amount of cash!

My theory about computers--if you buy now, you're stupid. It's as simple as that. Currently, the major chip makers are dueling it out, trying to be the biggest seller, trying to create better, cheaper chips than the other companies. In about a year, this will have forced prices to drop *more than significantly*. Also, the new Windows 98 operating system will be out, so you won't have to upgrade. And the DVD drives will be available(no, not the current DVD-ROMs, but full drives that allow you to write and do what ever you want to on a DVD).

Future Plans

My future plans are to go to college, do the best I can, and get a really great job upon graduating. I know it's now small task, so I'm getting ready to do some serious studying for the next 4-5 years. 5 years because I'm planning to COOP.

Trying to Publish this Page

Between going to work at Nickel's Bakery, reading, and playing games, I have been trying to get a somewhat cool page up and running. If you have any feedback, please feel free to send it to me!
