The 'T' was first built in 1972. I've had it since '86. It's constantly under reconstruction. The car was originally one of those Bird Automotive kits you used to see advertised in comic books and Boys Life Magazine, stuff like that. The body on this car is kinda neat. It's got some touches that newer bodies don't have. Little things like the lip along the leading edge of the cowl where the hood welting goes. Bird claimed to have made their molds from an actual 23 Ford roadster. Kinda hard to do. Norm Grabowski made the first one in the 1950's by cutting a section out of a touring car (tub) and welding it back together, creating a 'bucket'. Norm's original T is one of the most famous hot rods around. Right up there with the California Kid, the ZZ Top Coupe, and the Yellow Deuce from American Graffitti. In case you hadn't heard of it, it was the 'Kookie' car driven by Edd Byrnes on the old tv series 77 Sunset Strip. Norm also had an acting career himself in such unforgettable movies as "Outta Sight". Yeah, I know, you already forgot.
